The Infrastructure Principle
The most powerful infrastructure in modern economies — roads, electricity grids, broadband networks — only became transformative when they became shared. Before electricity grids, you either had a generator or you didn't. Before broadband, connectivity was a luxury. Access was rationed by wealth.
Football data infrastructure works exactly the same way. A Premier League club with a £10m analytics budget can afford its own data scientists, its own licence agreements with Opta and StatsBomb, its own proprietary models. A Eerste Divisie club with a £200k wage bill and a five-person office cannot. And so the gap grows — not because of talent or ambition, but because of structural access.
We are building the road. By pooling data licences and spreading the cost of infrastructure across a network of clubs, every club on the network gets access to the same quality of data that was previously reserved for the top tier. The fixed costs are shared. The insight is not.
This model already exists in other sectors. Shared data consortia, industry benchmarking networks, cloud computing platforms — all of them work on the principle that shared infrastructure creates more value than isolated infrastructure. Football is simply catching up. We are the people building that network for European mid-tier professional football.
